What is in a Name?

Before deciding on a logo or logotype or what not, we should decide on the name. Is it just Museon? Museon Softcode? Museon Softcode Package? Museon Globals? Etc, etc.

  • I personally prefer the formal name Museon Softcode Package. I opt away from Globals as the design philosophy behind Museon would support the addition of non-global code. Obviously the short name is just Museon, and not MSP. Grey 18:29, 22 October 2007 (EDT)
  • I think it should just be the Museon Project for the logo or whatnot. There's some very, very closely related ideas that nails has which actually might serve better under a common umbrella. The actual softcode distribution? I don't know if package is a good idea, as to me that speaks of one packed-together thing, and this is all very modular. Perhaps "Museon Systems" or "Museon Distribution" or ... Ixokai 18:35, 22 October 2007 (EDT)
    • Yeah, I have to agree with Ixo here. 'package' makes it seem like all of one thing, which Museon isn't. I actually opt for Museon Distribution. As that's what it will be. Now, yes, all code will be formated in the Museon design specs, but it isn't a package, so much as it will be a bunch of packages. Sort of like Ubuntu's Synaptic Package Manager. Only this is the Museon Package Manager. ;P Clotho 21:59, 22 October 2007 (EDT)
  • I opt for Museon Distribution or Museon Softcode Distribution for the softcode itself, and Museon Project for the, well, project. Ihavenomouth 02:52, 23 October 2007 (EDT)
    • My preference lends to this, yes; the Museon Project, a product of which is the Museon Softcode Distribution. Ixokai 03:52, 23 October 2007 (EDT)
      • And I was bored, and fiddling :) Logo idea!
      • I dunno if I'm loving the lightning, but I love the [MP()] bit. We could do a lot of playing around with that. And by 'we' I mean 'people who know how to do that sort of thing'.  ;) Ihavenomouth 19:56, 23 October 2007 (EDT)
